THE CHAIRISTER STORY

THE BEGINNING

After working in the office seating industry for many years our founder.Mr.Denier Wei,felt that his designs and standards could be best demonstrated through his own company.

And so it was that in 1983 Chairister was formed in Taiwan.

THE EARLY YEARS

Through substantial investment in moulds and tooling for chair components a unique range of seating was launched.The style and quality of these products resulted in substained growth with export orders being won throughout the world.

Major successes in supplying to American retailers lead to the factory out-growing its manufacturing facilities and Denier decided that a larger plant was neccessary if the company was to meet customer demand.Because of high land and labour costs in Taiwan a feasibility study was conducted to determine if a move to a South East Asian country would prove to be more beneficial for the company.After much deliberation Thailand was selected as the country most suitable.

THE MOVE

In 1997 work commenced on a purpose built 30,000 sq.metre factory unit on land in a designated Export zone in Prachinburi,Thailand.

During 1998 production was gradually transferred to Thailand,so that by 1999 the plant was fully operational with a highly trained and skilled workforce.

Production Facilities in Thailand include:

-Our own PU foam plant producing high density moulded foams to full UK Fire Retardant specification.Moulded foam is more consistent in shape and longer lasting than 'cut foams'.With our own plant on site we can control the quality of foams and ensure that every chair will give the maximum comfort and life expectancy.
- Five upholstery lines fed by conveyors.
- injection departments for PP and Nylon products.
- Chair parts testing division.
- R & D department.
- Highly skilled Workforce of300.
